Tis the season.. to finish Christmas crafts that were started long ago.

Blocking Sam’s stocking I knit this summer. I struggled through the whole thing and I’m not too thrilled with the way it came out so I think I tried to push it out of my mind once I bound off.

Got a much needed pedicure this weekend. Pedicures are so relaxing, I just wish they lasted longer!
The little sandals are silly looking, but man are they great when you forget to wear flip flops to your pedicure!

I feel like chicken tonight! Like chicken tonight!

I made dinner tonight! (And unfortunately only have cameraphone pictures to show for it).

There’s just something about spring that apparently makes me want to cook. I’m not sure what it is, but when the weather starts to change I find myself searching recipes online a little more and experimenting with recipes I’ve never tried before: “healthified” chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries.

Both recipes turned out pretty well, but I especially loved the sweet potato fries. While they did tend more towards the mushy side, they were still delicious a perfect side for out meal, especially considering I’m watching my calories for a weight loss contest at my work.

Dinner

The chicken nuggets were yummy as well, but I don’t think they’re going to become a staple of my cooking skills. I used corn flakes instead of Wheaties (I’m just not a Wheaties gal). The corn flakes gave the chicken nuggets a great crunch, but it also made me feel a little like I was eating breakfast with my nuggets. Not the taste I was really going for.

Dinner with Hubby

It made hubby excited to see dinner made for him when he got home from work!

(Attempted) To play Bingo with Brittany. I haven’t been to Bingo since I was a wee tot. Bingo kind of makes my head spin, but it was a fun experience!

Sam and I went to a Persimmon Festival this past weekend. I had never really thought of persimmons really worthy of having a festival, but it sure was a great time! In honor of the persimmon, Sam and I shared a persimmon pudding (which is really more like pie). Yummy!

Babydoll Dress - The Actual Beginning

Baby Doll Dress - Finally Started

I finally have started on the crocheted Babydoll Dress that I started… oh, way back in July of last year. (And by started I mean, only testing my gauge on the swatches.) I’m really enjoying the way it’s working up. I loved the ribbed feel of the bodice and I’m really looking forward to having an actual garment. As it is my first attempt at a piece of clothing, I’m not sure exactly how it’s going to turn out, but hopefully it will be cute and wearable.
