Sam’s Turtle blanket is finally done! It’s been five years in the making, from what I can tell. I know for sure that I started it before we were married. We both think it was 2006 when I started the blanket. I thought it was going to be done about a year ago, but the hubby is a tall guy and therefore the blanket needed to be a little taller too. About two months ago, I went to buy more of the lighter green yarn to make it one more row wider, only to find that the color wasn’t made anymore. I guess that’s what you get when you work on a project for five years without having all of the yarn you need already purchased. The blanket still turned out to cover the hubby though, even without the extra row. And boy is it heavy. Apparently making a nearly six foot long blanket entirely of cotton yarn makes for a hefty lift. The hubby assures me he likes it though and that it was worth the wait!
